I know I promised a picture with the new glasses but haven't posted one yet... I don't feel very photogenic unless I have just gotten a haircut and have been waiting for a good picture or good angle. I think I finally found one, even though I haven't gotten a haircut yet. I am sorta buzzed, and in Las Vegas which explains why I look happy :) I will post it soon once my mom arrives home with the camera.

I'm not sure I posted this at the time, did I? Anyway, I do happen to have a recent batch of photos (meaning, taken this year). They feature myself (with the glasses and goatee), my brother, my mother and (on one photo) my father's older sister (herself a grandmother of over two dozen kids...)

Enjoy here.

Ooh, thanks for posting those. Those are some great photos, especially the ones with the shadow phenomenon. It took me a moment to figure out how it was working based on the description. The countryside is really green and beautiful (despite sick trees). I agree with the one comment, it's sad about the politics.

Thanks. It took me a while to understand too, and only found the name of the phenomenon a few days ago: those are anticrepuscular rays (Wikipedia article with two examples).

Here, lemme help you: it's pronounced Ankah-dee'ayfah-dzoor, with the accent on the penultimate syllable (final vowel is almost never pronounced). And believe me, it's a relatively benign name around here. Try pronouncing Ambatofinandrahana for example... :P

So, I hear we are awaiting a Las Vegas, new glasses picture a la butterbridge. Or perhaps there is a haircut picture in the works? The crowd awaits with bated breath! :)
