This just in. Apparently, despite heavy opposition by the Catholic Church, the Senate voted to extend the right to marry to same-sex couples. A similar bill having been passed earlier this year by the lower house, this means marriage equality is just one signature away from becoming law in Argentina (and since the president herself was a proponent of the bill, said signature is already a given).
Portugal, Iceland, and now Argentina. Busiest six months ever for marriage equality, eh?
France and the United States, supposed motherlands of democracy and human rights: I'm laying my disapproving, disappointed eyes on you.
