Rhythm Games

So is anyone else here much into rhythm games? I'm not limiting the scope to Guitar Hero and Rock Band--personally, I'm huge on DDR (Konamix, Supernova 1 and 2, and the Extreme series are my personal favorites), Guitar Hero, Elite Beat Agents, and, more recently, DJ Hero.

So... erm... yeah. What's your favorite rhythm game? Favorite song in a rhythm game? Favorite rhythm game to watch? I dunno, any discussion about rhythm games in general would make me a pretty happy guy--the complete over-saturation of the market by the GH series has pretty much driven everyone away from the genre as of late, which pretty much sucks.

I'm really into rhythm based games. I first got into them with Amplitude, and subsequently Frequency. My favorites are Amplitude, DDRMAX2, and Guitar Hero 3. I prefer Rockband over the other Guitar Hero games because the career mode is more fun, but would rather play guitar than drums or sing. I was not impressed with Band Hero, though. Too many pop hits. Bleh.

Recently I've been playing TapTap Revenge on Jason's iPod. It's free, but it only comes with a handful of songs. On the plus side, they frequently release free songs and you can play online with people even if neither of you have a song. It's got a pretty big community and is a really fun game. Reminds me of Amplitude.

I used to compete in DDR Competitions, but I haven't really played it in years. I also liked Bust a Groove 1 and 2 and Pop N Music.

I've never been a huge rhythm game fan. They always seems too repetitive to me.
